Inspection Procedure 2: The USB adapter data cannot be replayed. < Vehicles with radio and CD player >: Diagnosis

Required Special Tools: 

  1. STEP 1. Check the radio and CD player operation. 

    Check if the radio and CD player normally and the sound is output.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  2. STEP 2. Check the diagnosis mode 

    Check if the hands free module can be switched to the diagnosis mode. (Refer to DIAGNOSIS MODE < VEHICLES WITH 1CD AUDIO >  < Vehicles with 1CD audio > or DIAGNOSIS MODE < VEHICLES WITH DISPLAY AUDIO >  < Vehicles with display audio >.)

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  3. STEP 3. Check the USB adapter. 

    Check that the continuity exists between the front side terminals of USB adapter and rear side terminals of USB adapter. (Refer to RADIO AND CD PLAYER .)

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 4
    • NO:  Replace the USB adapter.
  4. STEP 4. Check the USB cable. 

    Check that the USB cable is connected to the USB adapter or hands free module normally. Or check the USB cable for damage such as bend.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5
    • NO:  Replace or repair the USB cable.
  5. STEP 5. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in AAL+, AAR+ line between hands free module connector and radio and CD player connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 6
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  6. STEP 6. Replace the hands free module temporarily, and check the trouble symptom. 

    Replace the hands free module temporarily, and check that the sound is output from the speaker.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Replace the hands free module.
    • NO:  Replace the radio and CD player.
