Inspection Procedure 2: The USB adapter data cannot be replayed. < Vehicles with MMCS >: Diagnosis
Required Special Tools:
- MB991223: Harness Set
- MB992006: Extra Fine Probe
- STEP 1. Check the multivision display operation.
Check if the multivision display normally and the sound is output.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 2
- NO: Troubleshoot the multivision display. (Refer to TROUBLE SYMPTOM CHART .)
- STEP 2. Check the diagnosis mode
Check if the hands free module can be switched to the diagnosis mode. (Refer to DIAGNOSIS MODE < VEHICLES WITH MMCS > .)
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 3
- NO: Perform INSPECTION PROCEDURE 5 "DIAGNOSIS MODE CANNOT BE MADE AN ENTRY."
- STEP 3. Check the USB adapter.
Check that the continuity exists between the front side terminals of USB adapter and rear side terminals of USB adapter. (Refer to USB ADAPTER CHECK .)
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 4
- NO: Replace the USB adapter.
- STEP 4. Check the USB cable.
Check that the USB cable is connected to the USB adapter or hands free module normally. Or check the USB cable for damage such as bend.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 5
- NO: Replace or repair the USB cable.
- STEP 5. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in AAL+, AAR+ line between hands free module connector and multivision display connector.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Go to Step 6
- NO: Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
- STEP 6. Replace the hands free module temporarily, and check the trouble symptom.
Replace the hands free module temporarily, and check that the sound is output from the speaker.
Q: Is the check result normal?
- YES: Replace the hands free module.
- NO: Replace the multivision display.
