The USB Adapter Data Cannot Be Replayed. < Vehicles With MMCS >: Diagnosis

Required Special Tools: 

  1. STEP 1. Check the multivision display operation. 

    Check if the multivision display work normally and the sound is output.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  2. STEP 2. Check the multivision display operation. 

    Display the A/V Mode screen, and check that the "USB/iPod" item is displayed.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step  9.
    • NO:  Go to Step 3.
  3. STEP 3. Check the USB adapter. 

    Check that the continuity exists between the front side terminals of USB adapter and rear side terminals of USB adapter. (Refer to USB ADAPTER CHECK  )

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 4.
    • NO:  Replace the USB adapter.
  4. STEP 4. Check the USB cable. 

    Check that the USB cable is connected to the USB adapter or USB box normally. Or check the USB cable for damage such as bend.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5
    • NO:  Replace or repair the USB cable.
  5. STEP 5. Voltage measurement at USB box connector. 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Check the voltage between the USB box connector (+B terminal) and ground.

      OK: The voltage should measure approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage). 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step  7.
    • NO:  Go to Step 6.
  6. STEP 6. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in +B line between USB box connector and intermediate connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  7. STEP 7. Resistance measurement at USB box connector. 
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance available at the wiring harness side of the connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the USB box connector (GND terminal) and ground.

      OK: The resistance should be 2 ohms or less 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step  9.
    • NO:  Go to Step 8.
  8. STEP 8. Check of open circuit in GND line between USB box connector and ground. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  9. STEP 9. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in (AAL+, AAR+, SH-A line) between multivision display connector and USB box connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 10.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  10. STEP 10. Replace the USB box temporarily, and check the trouble symptom. 

    Replace the USB box temporarily, and check that the sound is output from the speaker.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Replace the USB box.
    • NO:  Replace the multivision display.
