Inspection Procedure 2: The Rear Dome Light Does Not Illuminate Normally: Diagnosis

Required Special Tools: 

  1. STEP 1. Front dome light operation check 

    Check that the front dome light illuminates and extinguishes normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  2. STEP 2. Rear dome light bulb check 

    Check that the rear dome light bulb is normal.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 3.
    • NO:  Replace the rear dome light bulb.
  3. STEP 3. Check of open circuit in (LP+1) line between the rear dome light connector and ETACS-ECU connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 4.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  4. STEP 4. Check of open circuit in (RLP-) line between the rear dome light connector and ETACS-ECU connector. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 5.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  5. STEP 5. Check of open circuit in ground line between the rear dome light connector and ground. 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Replace the rear dome light, and then go to Step 6.
    • NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  6. STEP 6. Retest the system 

    Check that the rear dome light illuminates/extinguishes normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal?
