Inspection Procedure 12: Delayed finishing wipe function does not work normally: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Check the ETACS-ECU customization function. 

    Use the ETACS-ECU customization function to check that the "front wiper washer" is set to "On with delayed finishing wipe function."

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    • YES:  Go to Step 2.
    • NO:  Use the ETACS-ECU customization function to set the "front wiper washer" to "On with delayed finishing wipe function." (Refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE  .)
  2. STEP 2. Use the scan tool MB991958 to check if an ETACS-related diagnostic trouble code is stored. 

    Connect the scan tool. Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT THE SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III) ."

    Q: Is the diagnostic trouble code stored? 

  3. STEP 3. Windshield wiper operation check 

    Check that the windshield wipers work normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  4. STEP 4. Windshield washer operation check 

    Check that the windshield washers work normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

  5. STEP 5. Retest the system 

    Check that the delayed finishing wipe function works normally.

    Q: Is the check result normal?
