Registration When Replacing OSS-Ecu: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
  • When KOS-ECU is replaced, all the registrations that need to be performed at KOS-ECU replacement must be completed before the registration of OSS-ECU.
  • Be sure to check that DTC B1157 OSS EEPROM error is not stored. If DTC B1157 "OSS EEPROM error" is stored, the VIN cannot be stored in memory even when it is written. Therefore, when these DTC is stored, be sure to carry out the troubleshooting first to repair the trouble, and then write the VIN to OSS-ECU.

Required Special Tools:

When OSS-ECU or electric steering lock is replaced, the chassis number needs to be registered to the replaced ECU.
