DTC B1132: START circuit fail: Diagnosis

  1. STEP 1. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check other system data list 
    CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (M.U.T.-III), always turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to the OFF position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (M.U.T.-III).
    1. Connect scan tool (M.U.T.-III). Refer to "HOW TO CONNECT SCAN TOOL (M.U.T.-III)  ."
    2. After performing the forced power supply output (refer to FORCED POWER SUPPLY OUTPUT PROCEDURE  ) "IG-ON".
    3. Check the engine control module data list.
    4. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch to OFF.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 2.
    2. NO:  Carry out the troubleshooting for the DTC B1131. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  .
  2. STEP 2. Check of short to power supply, short to ground, and open circuit in NTSW line between starter relay connector and engine control module connector 

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 3
    2. NO:  Repair the connector(s) or wiring harness.
  3. STEP 3. Using scan tool (M.U.T.-III), check data list. 

    Check the ASC-ECU data list.

    Q: Is the check result normal? 

    1. YES:  Go to Step 4
    2. NO:  Replace the ETACS-ECU.
  4. STEP 4. Recheck for diagnostic trouble code 

    Check again if the DTC is stored in the KOS-ECU.

    1. Erase the DTC.
    2. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from OFF to ON.
    3. Check if DTC is stored.
    4. Turn the power supply mode of the engine switch from ON to OFF.

    Q: Is the diagnostic trouble code stored? 

    1. YES (Set after 10 seconds or more have elapsed since the engine switch ON):  Replace the engine control module and register the chassis number and key codes [Refer to HOW TO PERFORM CHASSIS NUMBER (CHASSIS NO.) WRITING ].
    2. YES (Set within 10 seconds since the engine switch ON):  Replace the OSS-ECU and register the chassis number (Refer to REGISTRATION WHEN REPLACING OSS-ECU  ).
    3. NO:  Intermittent malfunction is suspected (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION ).
