Curtain Air Bag Module(S): Inspection

WARNING: Never attempt to measure the circuit resistance of the air bag modules (squib), even if you are using the specified tester. If the circuit resistance is measured with a tester, accidental air bag deployment will result, and possible serious personal injury.
WARNING:
  • If any component damage is found during the following inspection, replace the air bag module with a new one. Dispose of the old one according to the specified procedure (Refer to PASSENGER'S AIR BAG ON/OFF INDICATOR LIGHT  ).
  • There must be no abnormality to the air bag deployment section of headlining.

If any malfunction is found in the following inspections, replace with a new curtain air bag module.

  1. Check the inflator surface for cracks, dents or deformations.
  2. Check the air bag for breakage.
  3. Check the connector for damage, the terminal for deformation and the harness for binding.
