Definition Of Terms: Abbreviations

The following abbreviations are used in this manual for classification of model types:

2.4L: Indicates models equipped with the 2,360 cm³ (144.0 cu in) < 4J12 > gasoline engine.

3.0L: Indicates models equipped with the 2,998 cm³ (182.9 cu in) < 6B31 > gasoline engine.

FWD: Indicates the 2-wheel drive vehicles.

AWD: Indicates the 4-wheel drive vehicles.

A/C: Indicates the air conditioning.

A/T: Indicates the automatic transaxle, or models equipped with the automatic transaxle.

CVT: Indicates the continuously variable transaxle.

INVECS: Indicates the intelligent and innovative vehicles electronic control system.

MIVEC: Indicates the Mitsubishi innovative valve timing electronic control system.

MFI: Indicates the multiport fuel injection.

SOHC: Indicates the single overhead camshaft.
