Operation Check

- Stop the engine from the idle state.
- Remove the radiator condenser tank. (Refer to RADIATOR ).
- Check that the drive belt is not protruding from the pulley width of the auto-tensioner.
- Remove the drive belt (Refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY ).
- Rotate the pulley bolt of the auto-tensioner clockwise and counterclockwise with an offset wrench [45°, a long offset wrench (5/8 x 11/16 inches) recommended] to check for binding.
- If there are any problems in the procedure 3 or 5, replace the auto-tensioner. (Refer to TIMING CHAIN ).
- Install the drive belt. (Refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY ).
- Install the radiator condenser tank. (Refer to RADIATOR ).
