Wheel Bearing End Play Check

  1. Remove the brake caliper assembly and brake disc, and retain the brake caliper assembly with a wire and the like to prevent from falling (Refer to FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY  ).
  2. Set a dial gauge as shown in the illustration. Move the hub in the axial direction and measure the end play.

    Limit: 0.05 mm (0.002 inch) 

  3. If the play exceeds the limit, disassemble hub knuckle assembly to check each component. If the wheel bearing is faulty, replace it (Refer to DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY  ).
  4. After checking, install the brake disc and the brake caliper assembly (Refer to FRONT AXLE HUB ASSEMBLY  ).
