Operation Check

Required Special Tool:
MB992278: Belt tension release wrench
- Stop the engine from the idle state.
- Remove the radiator condenser tank. (Refer to RADIATOR ).
- Check that the drive belt is not protruding from the pulley width of the auto-tensioner.
- Remove the drive belt (Refer to <<A>> DRIVE BELT REMOVAL ).
- Using the special tool MB992278 and a straight offset wrench as shown, check that no binding is present by turning the auto-tensioner in the left and right directions.
- If there are any problems in the procedure 3 or 5, replace the auto-tensioner. (Refer to <<D>> AUTO-TENSIONER REMOVAL ).
- Install the drive belt. (Refer to >>B<< DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION ).
- Install the radiator condenser tank. (Refer to RADIATOR ).
