Rear Axle Total Backlash Check

- Shift the shift lever to the Neutral position, pull the parking brake lever, and then raise the vehicle using a jack.
- Fully turn the propeller shaft clockwise, and place the mating marks on the companion flange dust cover and differential carrier.
- Fully turn the propeller shaft counterclockwise, and measure the travel distance of mating marks.
Limit: 6 mm (0.2 inch)
- If the backlash exceeds the limit, replace the differential carrier assembly.
