DTC B1200: Defective odometer: Diagnosis

Required Special Tools: 

Recheck for diagnostic trouble code. 

Recheck if the diagnostic trouble code is set.

CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool (MB991958), always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool (MB991958).
  1. Connect scan tool MB991958 to the data link connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.
  3. Erase the diagnostic trouble code.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.
  6. Drive the vehicle and check that the diagnostic trouble code is not set.
  7. Turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position.

Q: Is the check result normally? 

  1. YES  : An intermittent malfunction is suspected. Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTION .
  2. NO  : Replace the combination meter.
