Headlight Automatic Leveling Motor Drive Test

Required Special Tools:

MB991958: Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: Vehicle Communication Interface (V.C.I.).
- MB991827: M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910: M.U.T.-III Main Harness A (Vehicles with CAN communication system)

CAUTION:

The leveling motor drive test of headlight leveling unit must be performed with the vehicle at a standstill (When a vehicle speed signal is input from the head light automatic leveling ECU, the leveling motor drive test cannot be performed).

Hook up the scan tool or ground terminal 1 of data link connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn ON the headlight switch.
Check that the headlight leveling operates downward for 3 seconds and then upward for 3 seconds.

NOTE:

When the leveling of the headlight faces downward at the time of drive test start, it stays as is.
Only one drive test is possible after the ignition switch is turned to the ON position.
