Required Special Tools:

  1. STEP 1. Check AC inverter connector D-128 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.

Q: Is AC inverter connector D-128 in good condition?

    YES:  Go to Step 2.

    NO:  Repair the damaged parts.

  2. STEP 2. Measure the voltage at AC inverter connector D-128.
    1. Disconnect AC inverter connector D-128, and measure the voltage wiring harness side.
    2. Measure the voltage between AC inverter connector D-128 (terminal No. 1) and the body ground.
      • The voltage should measure approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage).

Q: Does the voltage measure battery voltage?

    YES:  Go to  Step 5.

    NO:  Go to Step 3.

    YES:  Go to Step 4.

NO:  Repair the wiring harness between AC inverter connector D-128 and fusible link (34).

  4. STEP 4. Retest the system

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES:  The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS ).

NO:  Carry out the troubleshooting again.

  5. STEP 5. Measure the voltage at AC inverter connector D-128.
    1. Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
    3. Measure the voltage between AC inverter connector D-128 (terminal No. 3) and the body ground.
      • The voltage should measure approximately 12 volts (battery positive voltage).

Q: Does the voltage measure battery voltage?

    YES:  Go to  Step 8.

    NO:  Go to Step 6.

  6. STEP 6. Check the wiring harness between AC inverter connector D-128 (terminal No. 3) and ETACS-ECU connector C-313 (terminal No. 2).

Q: Is the wiring harness between AC inverter connector D-128 (terminal No. 3) and ETACS-ECU connector C-313 (terminal No. 2) in good condition?

    YES:  Go to Step 7.

NO:  Repair the wiring harness between AC inverter connector D-128 and ETACS-ECU C-313.

  7. STEP 7. Retest the system

Q: Is the check result normal?

YES:  The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to HOW TO COPE WITH INTERMITTENT MALFUNCTIONS ).

NO:  Carry out the troubleshooting again.

  8. STEP 8. Measure the resistance at AC inverter connector D-128.
    1. Disconnect the AC inverter connector D-128, and measure at the wiring harness side.
    2. Measure the resistance between AC inverter connector D-128 (terminal No. 7) and the body ground.
      • The measured value should be continuity exists (2 Ω or less).

Q: Does the measured resistance value correspond with this range?

    YES:  Go to  Step 11.

    NO:  Go to Step 9.
