Circuit Description

Battery voltage is applied to the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch (terminal No. 7) when the ignition is on. Battery voltage is applied to the PCM harness connector (terminal No. 101) when the gearshift lever is in the "P" position. The PCM detects that the gearshift lever is in the "P" position when the battery voltage is applied. Battery voltage is applied to the PCM terminal No. 108 (121, 102, 109, 122 or 110) when the gearshift lever is in the "R" position ("N", "D", "3", "2" or "L" position). The PCM detects that the gearshift lever is in the "R" position ("N", "D", "3", "2" or "L" position) when the battery voltage is applied.
