Adjustment (Diamante)
- Start engine and depress brake pedal at least two times, then turn engine off.
- Remove master cylinder from brake booster making sure push rod is not disturbed and brake pedal is not depressed after master cylinder removal.
- Using a vernier caliper and block gauge, measure thickness of block gauge and add .366" (9.3 mm) to gauge thickness. Set caliper to this dimension. See Fig 1.
- Check push rod position with vernier caliper set to calculated dimension. Specification range is .362-.370" (9.2-9.4 mm). See Fig 2.
- If clearance is NOT within range, turn push rod screw to correct length.
NOTE:
This measurement is taken on the radial face of push rod, .085" (2.16 mm) from center of radial face. This adjusting procedure MUST be done with 18-22 in. Hg (61-74 kPa) of vacuum applied to brake booster.
