SRS Warning Light Comes On

  1. Before proceeding, read and understand all air bag service precautions. See SERVICE PRECAUTIONS  . Check for discharged battery. If battery is okay, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Shield cable terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds before servicing.
  2. Remove rear console assembly for access to SDU. See Figure & 6. At SDU connector, use a screwdriver to push lock spring horizontally (toward SDU) to unlock lock lever (DO NOT  insert screwdriver between lock lever and lock spring). See Figure . Press and hold lock lever in, and disconnect SDU Red 14-pin connector.
  3. Reconnect negative battery cable. Turn ignition switch to ON position. If SRS warning light illuminates, replace SRS wiring harness. If SRS warning light fails to illuminate, replace the SDU.
