Disabling & Activating Air Bag System

WARNING: SRS system voltage is maintained for about 60 seconds after battery cable is disconnected. After disconnecting battery cable, wait at least 60 seconds before servicing SRS. Failure to wait may cause accidental air bag deployment and possible personal injury.

To disable system, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect negative battery cable. Shield cable end with electrical insulating tape. Wait at least 60 seconds before servicing. To activate system, reconnect negative battery cable.
