Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) consists of an SRS warning light, left and right front impact sensors, driver-side air bag module, passenger-side air bag module, clockspring, and SRS Diagnostic Unit (SDU). SDU contains safing impact sensor. See Fig 1 .
Air bags are designed to deploy in a frontal or near frontal impact of moderate to severe force. For air bags to deploy, ignition must be on, and safing impact sensor and at least one front impact sensor must activate simultaneously.
