Cylinder Block

  1. Measure cylinder block deck warpage. See CYLINDER BLOCK  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. If warpage exceeds specification, machine surface. DO NOT remove more than a combined total of .008" (0.20 mm) material from cylinder head and cylinder block gasket surfaces.
  2. Measure cylinder bore diameter in 3 places: .47" (12 mm) from top of bore, .47" (12 mm) from bottom of bore, and near center of bore. If cylinder bore diameter or taper is not within specification, rebore cylinders and install oversize pistons. See CYLINDER BLOCK  table.
