Inspection (Precis)

Install camshaft thrust case, thrust plate, and bolt onto camshaft. Tighten bolt. Measure end play between thrust case and camshaft. See CAMSHAFT  table under ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS. If end play is not within specification, replace thrust case. If end play is still not within specification, replace camshaft.
