Installation (1.8L Eclipse)

  1. Coat bearing outer area with engine oil before installing rear silent shaft bearing. Using Bearing Installer (MD998286), install bearing in cylinder block.
  2. To install front silent shaft bearing, install guide pins provided with Bearing Installer (MD998280) in threaded holes at front of cylinder block. Install front bearing on bearing installer. Ensure ratchet ball on bearing installer engages in oil hole of bearing.
  3. Coat outer area of bearing with engine oil. Place bearing installer over guide pins and drive bearing into cylinder block. Install balance shafts in original location.
