Installation (2.0L DOHC)

Install lash adjusters and rocker arms on cylinder head. If camshaft oil seal was removed, lubricate front O.D. of camshaft. Using Seal Installer (MD998306-01 and MD998307-01), install camshaft oil seal. Lubricate camshaft lobes and bearing journals and install both camshafts into cylinder head.
Install camshaft bearing caps in original location and tighten (in 2-3 steps) to specification in sequence. See Fig 2. See the TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.

CAUTION: Install crank angle sensor so mark on housing align with notch on plate, otherwise incorrect fuel and ignition timing will result. See Fig 3.

CAUTION: DO NOT rotate crankshaft if timing belt has been removed. DO NOT rotate crankshaft counterclockwise (as viewed from timing belt end of engine).
