Installation (Precis 1.5L)

  1. Using Jet Valve Stem Seal Installer (MD998308-01), install new jet valve seal into jet body. Apply oil to jet valve stem. Install jet valve into body. Ensure jet valve stem slides smoothly in body.
  2. Using spring pliers, compress spring. Install spring, retainer and retainer lock. DO NOT  damage valve stem seal with bottom of retainer during installation. Install new "O" ring in jet valve body groove and lubricate with engine oil.
  3. Lubricate threaded portion and seating surface of jet valve assembly. Install jet valve assembly finger tight. Tighten jet valve to specification using jet valve socket. To install remaining components, reverse removal procedure. Adjust valve clearance. See VALVE CLEARANCE ADJUSTMENT  under VALVES.
