Inspection (1.5L)

  1. Inspect camshaft journal diameter, lobe lift and signs of wear. Replace camshaft if not within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS  tables.
  2. Install camshaft thrust case, thrust plate and bolt on camshaft. Tighten bolt. Using feeler gauge, measure clearance between thrust case and the camshaft. This is the end play. Replace thrust case and recheck clearance if not within specification. See ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS  tables. If still not within specification, replace camshaft.
