Oil Pump & Front Cover: Removal

  1. Remove timing belt and crankshaft sprocket. See TIMING BELT  under CAMSHAFT. Remove oil filter, oil pressure switch (1.6L), oil pan and oil screen. Remove oil filter bracket (1.6L), front cover and oil pump assembly.
  2. On 1.6L applications, remove plug cap located on the front of the front cover. Plug cap can be removed using Plug Cap Wrench (MD998162).
