Rocker Arm Assembly & Camshaft: Inspection

  1. Check cam lobes for wear or damage. If any cam lobe height measures less than 1.6496" (41.9 mm), replace camshaft.
  2. Check camshaft bearing journals for damage, wear or seizure. Replace camshaft if necessary. Check camshaft bearing surface for damage, wear or seizure. Replace cylinder head if bearings are worn excessively.


  1. Check cam lobes for wear or damage. If any intake cam lobe height measures less than 1.3777" (34.993 mm) or any exhaust cam lobe height measures less than 1.3661" (34.700 mm), replace camshaft(s).
  2. Check camshaft bearing journals for damage, wear or seizure. Replace camshaft if necessary. Check camshaft bearing surface for damage, wear or seizure. Replace cylinder head if bearings are worn excessively.
