Removal (Van/Wagon)
- Disconnect fuel pump connector at fuel pump. Start engine and allow to idle until it stalls. Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Reconnect fuel pump connector. Drain cooling system.
- Slide driver seat forward and remove rear cover. Lift and secure passenger seat. Remove seat and adjust underframe as necessary. Disconnect electrical connectors from throttle body and air intake pipe. Remove fuel lines from fuel rail.
- Remove throttle cables. Remove air intake hose from throttle body. Remove support brace, accelerator cable and vacuum hoses at throttle body. Remove thermostat and distributor. Remove intake plenum assembly.
- Disconnect electrical connectors from coolant temperature sensor, coolant temperature sending unit and fuel injectors. Remove delivery pipe bolts and remove delivery pipe with fuel injectors and pressure regulator.
- DO NOT allow fuel injector to fall from delivery pipe during removal. Remove tension rod bracket. Remove support brace from below intake manifold and remove intake manifold. Remaining components can be removed from intake manifold if required. See Figure.
