Removal (Pickup)

  1. Remove air cleaner and radiator shroud. Drain cooling system, engine oil and transaxle oil. Remove radiator with upper and lower hoses. Remove fuel lines and vapor hoses from engine. Disconnect heater hoses at firewall. Disconnect all vacuum hoses to engine.
  2. Disconnect throttle cable. Disconnect electrical connectors from oxygen sensor, A/C compressor, alternator, and oil pressure switch. Disconnect electrical connectors from ignition coil, distributor, coolant temperature sensor, and coolant temperature gauge sending unit.
  3. Disconnect power steering hoses from pump. Remove A/C compressor. If necessary, discharge A/C system and remove hoses. Disconnect exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold. Remove speedometer cable and gear shift assembly. Remove drive shaft and disconnect rear crossmember mount.
  4. Support engine with hoist. Remove front engine mounts. Raise engine slightly. Ensure all cables, hoses and electrical harnesses are disconnected from engine. Remove engine and transmission from engine compartment.
