All Models Except Pickup

  1. Start engine and apply brake pedal. Pull parking brake lever with a force of 44-45 lbs. (20.0-20.4 kg). Parking brake lever should move up 4-5 notches on Starion or 5-7 notches on all others.
  2. If necessary, turn adjusting cable nut located under console or at end of cable rod. On Galant equipped with rear disc brakes, clearance between parking lever and stopper should be .078" (1.98 mm) or less.
