Front Disc Brake Pads: Installation

Remove master cylinder reservoir cover. Compress piston to bottom of bore if new pads are to be installed. Install retaining clips, pad assembly, shim(s) shim holder (if equipped), and anti-squeak shim onto support mounting. On Radier and Montero, see Figure . On Mirage With 1.5L engine, see Fig 1 . On all other models, see Fig 2 .
On Conquest and Starion, verify that notches in piston are aligned with projections extending from rear of inner pad. Lower caliper body onto support mounting and install lock pin. Install master cylinder reservoir cover.
