Rear Disc Brake Caliper: Reassembly
- Lightly coat piston seal and piston with lubricant. Slide piston and seal into place while preventing seal distortion in groove. Lubricate boot, and slide boot into position making sure it engages groove in cylinder bore. Coat automatic adjuster seal with recommended grease.
- Fit adjuster spindle and hardware in place until spindle turns freely. Ensure spring faces proper direction. On Conquest and Starion, press in connecting link spring washers with Installer (MB990666). See Fig 1
. On all models, fit automatic adjuster spindle into place.
- Insert connecting link and lever assembly. Fill lever cap with Niglube RX-2, ensuring all areas have ample grease. Thoroughly clean caliper sliding surface. Reverse disassembly procedure to complete installation.
