Jet Valves

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature. Rotate crankshaft clockwise and position No. 1 cylinder at TDC of compression stroke. Ensure marks on crankshaft pulley and camshaft sprocket are properly aligned. See Fig 1.

  2. Adjust jet valve clearance on No. 1 and 2 cylinders to specifications. See VALVE CLEARANCE SPECIFICATIONS table in this article. Rotate crankshaft 360 degrees and repeat procedure on remaining slaves.
CAUTION: DO NOT  compress jet valve spring during valve clearance adjustment.
