Jet Valves: Removal

  1. Remove rocker arm assemblies and cylinder head as previously described. Using Jet Valve Socket (MD998310), remove jet valve assembly from cylinder head. Ensure jet valve socket is not tilted with respect to center of valve when used. If socket is tilted, stem may be bent resulting in defective jet valve operation and a broken wrench.
  2. Disassemble valve using Spring Pliers (MD998309) to compress spring and remove retainer lock. Keep jet valve components together as a set and oriented for assemble in their original positions. Remove jet valve stem seals with pliers and discard.
  3. Check jet valve head and seat for damage and ensure valve slides smoothly in body without play. If defective, jet valve and body should be replaced as an assembly.
