Removal (1.6L)

  1. Remove timing belt as previously described. Drain engine oil. Remove oil pan and oil pump pick-up screen. Remove oil pump cover. Remove front case and oil pump as an assembly. Note position of mounting bolts for reassembly reference. See Figure .
  2. Remove oil pressure relief plug, spring and plunger. Remove nut and oil pump sprocket. Remove oil pump cover. Remove rotor assembly.
