Oil Pump & Front Case (1.5L): Inspection

  1. Check front case for cracks or damage. Check front seal for worn or damaged lips. Check front case and oil pump cover for worn or damaged surfaces contacting gears. Check oil screen for clogging or damage. Check oil screen "O" ring.
  2. Check oil pump gears for worn or damaged teeth. Check oil pump clearances. See OIL PUMP SPECIFICATIONS table. Ensure relief valve slides smoothly in bore. Check for a deformed or broken pressure relief spring.
