Valve Springs

  1. With camshaft and rocker arm assembly removed, use valve spring compressor to remove retainer locks. Remove all retainers, springs, spring seats and valves. Keep components in proper order for reassembly.
  2. Check valve spring load, free length and spring squareness. Standard spring squareness should be 1.5 degrees or less. If beyond 2 degrees, replace spring. Install spring with identification color toward retainer.
