Electronic instrument cluster gauges and meters are completely Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) design. Indicator and warning lights are included to create total electronic instrumentation.

Status of all engine compartment systems is ultimately monitored by the on-board microcomputer and reported to the liquid crystal drive circuit for display on instrument panel.

An operational check of the LCD unit is performed each time the ignition is switched on. When the key is turned to the "ON" position, all LCD's will display the maximum indication for about 3 seconds. If a display does not perform, it is probably defective and should be replaced as a unit.
