Component Testing: Tachometer

Attach a known reliable tachometer to negative side of ignition coil. Check readings against vehicle tachometer at various RPM. If there is more than 100 RPM error at 1000 RPM or 200 RPM error between 3000-6000 RPM, replace tachometer.
