Proportioning Valve Function Test

  1. Use 2 pressure gauges that measure at least 2000 psi (140.6 kg/cm2 ). Attach one gauge to master cylinder rear side, and other gauge to rear wheel cylinder. Depress brake pedal.
  2. With master cylinder pressure equal to readings shown in BRAKE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE CHART, the wheel cylinders should meet specifications. If not, replace defective part as required. DO NOT disassemble proportioning valve.
