Bringing the engine to the installation position
Engine bridge
- Release and remove the front mount from adapter 0 496 422 (00 6 030).
- Slide the special tool 0 495 904 (00 0 490) (previous special tool number) or (006 150) (new special tool number) left and right on the mount 0 496 422 (00 6 030).
- Tighten retaining screws.
- Screw and tighten special tool 2 358 042
into the thread on cylinder head (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Special tool 2 358 042 to cylinder head M8x20 Tightening torque 19 Nm CAUTION: Components connected to the engine joint or cross member.
Injury hazard!- Check lifting eyes and engine mounting brackets for damage, e.g. cracks.
- Attach the component to correctly mounted engine joints or cross members only.
- Only lift the component, do not shift it forwards, backwards or in transverse direction.
- Position the cross-member 0 496 852 (00 6 100) with the help of a support person.
- Position the special tool 0 496 422 (00 6 030) (1) left and right on the shock tower.
- Unclip filler neck (1) from the washer fluid reservoir and set it aside.
- Position special tool 0 495 904 (00 0 490)
on the right side member as illustrated.
- Position special tool 0 495 904 (00 0 490)
on the left side member (1) as illustrated.
- Mount the special tool 0 490 561 (11 0 000) on the spindle (1).
- Release the spindle (1), till the hook (2) and (3) is sufficient up to the mounting lugs.NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
High load.
Excessive force on a disassembled body may cause permanent deformation.- Always keep the body fully assembled.
- Hook and secure the multi-function hook in special tool 2 358 042 and in the mounting lugs at the transmission end on the cylinder head.
- Slightly pre-tension engine.
