Removing and installing/replacing EDC control unit (SAS control unit) (Cooper Convertible)

NOTE: The optional equipment system (SAS) is a control unit in which the functions of the suspension control systems and the assist systems are integrated.

(In the AW System and in the appropriate BMW Parts Catalog, the control unit can be found under main group 34.)

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION)! .

Preliminary work needed: 

Removal: 

Remove cover (1) of right luggage compartment trim panel.

Unlock and disconnect plugs (1).

Loosen screws (2).

Remove SAS control unit (3).

Installation: 

Connect and lock connector (1).

Position SAS control unit (3).

Tighten down screws (2).

Tightening torque 37 14 6AZ .

Install cover (1).
