61 31 043 Removing and installing roof switch center: Notes

Special tools required: 

Attention  !

Follow INSTRUCTIONS  for handling light bulbs (interior lighting).

Attention  !

Read and comply with notes on ESD PROTECTION (ELECTRO STATIC DISCHARGE) .

Removal: 

Carefully unclip the trim (1) with the special tool 00 9 325 .

Remove the roof switch cluster (2).

Unlock latch mechanisms on both sides with screwdriver.

Remove roof switch cluster (1) from headlining (2).

Unlock and disconnect connector on rear side of roof switch cluster (1).

Installation: 

Connect connector on rear side of roof switch cluster (1).

Join roof switch cluster (1) in headlining (2).

NOTE: Ensure roof switch cluster (1) is correctly fitted and engaged.

NOTE: Guides and retaining lugs (1) on cover (2) must not be damaged or missing.

Carefully join and clip in the trim (1) on the roof switch cluster (2).

NOTE: Ensure cover (1) is correctly fitted and engaged on roof switch cluster (2).

Attention  !

Disconnecting the plug connection for the SOS emergency call button results in fault entries in the telephone control unit (restriction in the emergency call system).

After installation, read out fault memory and if necessary delete fault code entry.
