Removing and installing/replacing backrest frame for left or right rear seat (Cooper Convertible)

WARNING: Injury hazard!
The seat frame has very sharp edges that can cause injuries from cuts.
Exercise extreme caution and wear hand protection as required when carrying out any repair work in the area of the seat frame.

Preliminary work needed:

Remove left or right REAR PANEL on rear seat backrest.
Remove HEAD RESTRAINT .
Remove GUIDE SLEEVES .

Removal:

Carefully feed out seat cover (1) at the bearing journals (2) of the backrest frame.

Remove backrest cover (1) including upholstery from backrest frame (2).

Installation:

Check bearing bush (1) for damage and replace if necessary.

Fit backrest cover (1) including upholstery to backrest frame (2).

Carefully put seat cover (1) over the bearing journals (2) of the backrest frame.

NOTE: Ensure the upholstery (1) is correctly positioned around the backrest frame (2).

Required reworking:

Install left or right REAR PANEL on rear seat backrest.
Install GUIDE SLEEVES .
Install HEAD RESTRAINT .
