Completely Replacing The Left Carrier Support (Cooper Clubman F54)

Read contents of BODY, GENERAL .

Follow procedure for REPAIR STAGE 3 .

For stripping and rigging operations, refer to surrounding text on KSD (FRU number 41 11 205).

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE .

Use only an approved SPOT WELDER  for repairs!

Following new body parts are required (see applicable BMW Parts Catalog):

1. Carrier support, outer wheel arch section

   Support bracket shaped part

Removal: 

Open welded connections in areas (1).

OPEN  spot-welded adhesive joints in area (2).

Release carrier support from cavity sealing (3) and remove.

Preparation Of New Part: 

Remove adhesive residue in area (2).

Adjust new part and prepare in areas (1) and (2) for joining by welding.

Follow PROCEDURE  for replacement of spot-welded adhesive joints in area (2).

(3) = Installation position of cavity sealing.

Installation: 

Apply sealant to CAVITY SEALING  (3).

Install new part and weld in the areas (1) and (2).
