Removing and installing (replacing) Headunit Basis (Cooper)
IMPORTANT:
Risk of damage!
There is a hard disk installed in the headunit.
Carry out mechanical work on the headunit and adjacent components with vehicle care.
Avoid subjecting the headunit to vibration/shocks.
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with NOTES
on protection against electrostatic damage (ESD protection).
NOTE:
Comply with NOTES
on handling optical fibers.
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove CENTRAL INSTRUMENT .
- Disconnect cable from BATTERY EARTH LEAD
Removal:
Unscrew the screws (1).
NOTE:
The number of connectors may vary depending on the equipment specification.
Unlock plug connections. (1) and disconnect.
Remove headunit (2).
Replacement:
Unscrew the screws (1).
Take off holder (2).
Installation:
Connect and lock all plug connections (1).
Position headunit (2).
Tighten down screws (1).
Only for US version with SDARS:
Additional work is required when replacing the headunit!
- Refer to service information on: REPLACING SDARS, AS OF 09/2009 .
Required reworking:
- Install CENTRAL INSTRUMENT .
- Connect BATTERY GROUND LEAD .
Replacement:
Carry out PROGRAMMING/CODING .
On vehicles with a production date as from 07/2015, install the correct NAVIGATION MAP .
