Installing all spark plugs

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Only a swiveling extension for the reversible ratchet may be used. Rigid mounting tool and variable plug connections with rigid option may not be used; there is a risk that the insulator breaks.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
In order to avoid an uncontrolled flashover of ignition sparks, special attention must be paid to the cleanliness of the insulator (ceramic) of the spark plugs.
The insulator of the spark plug must not be touched with the fingers or labeled and must also not come into contact with liquid media such as fuel or oil.
Always handle spark plugs at the spark plug thread. Guiding in the spark plugs using a clean hose (assembly aid 12 1 230) is permitted.

Insert spark plug (1) in the special tool 0 496 065 (12 1 230) .

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Do not drop the spark plug into the spark plug shaft. This can lead to a reduction of the electrode gap and can thus impair smooth running of the engine, especially in idle position.
Screw the spark plugs into the engine hand-tight using special tool 0 496 065 (12 1 230) .

Tighten spark plugs with torque wrench, special tool 0 495 560 (12 1 220) and extension with joint.

TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATIONS
