Remove complete exhaust system

WARNING: Hot surfaces.
Risk of burning!

Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Mount the exhaust system in a de-energized state, following the tightening sequence from the rear silencer towards the exhaust manifold.

Preliminary work

Refer to REMOVING REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Refer to REMOVING THE CONNECTING SUPPORT FROM THE TUNNEL AT FRONT AND REAR .
Refer to REMOVING THE CROSS-MEMBER ON THE REAR AXLE .

CAUTION: Component with heavyweight.
Injury hazard!

Note component's center of gravity.
Support component using a jack.
Secure component against falling off the jack.

CAUTION: Heavy component.
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage.

Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Version 1 (Ribbon clamp)
Detach the ribbon clamp (1).

Unfasten clamp (1).

Pull exhaust system (1) out of rubber mount (2).

Lower, guide out and remove the exhaust system with the assistance of a second person.
